Corenet Singapore Global Summit

CADM have once again taken part in the CoreNet Global Summit event, this time travelling to new ground in Singapore. Although having several clients in this area, this is the first event that CADM have attended there. As usual the three day event, 25-27th March 2014, did not disappoint bringing real estate professionals from across the region together to discuss the current and future issues facing the workplace.conference

The session ‘What is really meant by Business Intelligence in Corporate Real Estate?’ was chaired by Qube Global Software’s CEO John Cuppello. Speakers within the session included Warren Hamilton, Qube Global’s Asia Sales Manager, providing an explanation of Business Intelligence from the Manager’s point of view. Alan Rose, Product Manager for CADM, who gave an insight into the relevance of this tool as a software engineer, and finally rounded off by Josh Wilkinson, Technology Director from CBRE, who looked into the practical applications of Business Intelligence within CBRE’s extensive client base. There was a lot of enthusiasm for the subject and the session was commended by many of the delegates.

When not in the educational sessions delegates were able to network within the exhibitor area where CADM was invited to attend as part of Qube Global’s stand. Exhibiting with Qube Global was a great success, with many delegates eager to learn more about the partnership which allows us to offer lease and property management software from Horizon as well as space and move management software through Qube Space Manager powered by Accordant.

The ever popular Lego office was also in attendance which received a great reception from delegates, exhibitors and the CoreNet staff alike. As with all of the shows CADM attend, a utilisation survey of the model was completed over the two days using Accordant Anywhere. During this time people were encouraged to move the Lego staff around whether that meant swapping seats or visiting one of the many real life office areas such as meeting rooms, break out areas or even the lavatories. In two hour slots over 6 hours we were able to gather data using the Android application and generate a comprehensive heat map of the detailed space usage. On the final day an agile working reconfiguration also took place on the model to highlight the Move Manager module of the application, but despite full occupancy the utilisation figure was astonishing with only 57.15% being used on average, more astonishing is that this is actually typical of a working office. This was amplified by Cushman & Wakefield’s closing speech where they presented detailed results of a survey they completed showing that once again utilisation is the top priority for real estate professionals in the area.
