The challenge:
In 2014, ASI’s London office at Bow Bells House had approximately 1,000 positions and was rapidly approaching capacity. They started looking for a simple-to-use and affordable workspace management solution.
ASI were using a number of in-house methods including Excel spread sheets. The key method was a map of the desks created with great skill on a spread sheet complete with desk numbers and employee names.
It required an in-depth knowledge to keep up to date, as it was controlled by a single individual. The task of knowing which desks were vacant was becoming increasingly difficult. The goal was to find something visual but quick and simple to update.
The story:
In 2015, ASI chose the Accordant solution based on its simple interface, comprehensive reporting and competitive pricing. The implementation of the solution took place over an agreed four week period.
The outcome:
A lot of the main ‘wins’ are due to the amount of extra work that the system eliminates. It is specifically used in producing documentation for moves and changes which now takes minutes rather than a full day.
Keeping desk records up-to-date has been delegated to others in the business. HR records are now fed automatically with new hires going straight into buses for positioning.
The business is now in far better control of desk and change management. They now have a high degree of confidence in the quality of data plus the ability to share high quality data with the rest of the business on-demand.
